We live out our lives in a game. Only Earth is real. The role we are able to play is based on the rules. Our resources are limited by our’s and our parent’s winnings. For the winners, it has been a fun ride. However, the Dominion Game may prove to be humanity’s undoing.

Humanity is supposed to be the most brilliant species, why don’t we care for more than just ourselves? Why is civilized society destructive? What can’t humanity restore its balance with Nature? The way the title reads hints at the answer.
Most of our forest landscape has become one giant densely-packed single-age tinderbox. Who’s at fault for the precarious situation? The timber industry is at fault; the government is at fault; and ultimately, we are all at fault.
Almost everyone accepts forest clear-cutting as a given, while the economic damage from smoke alone exceeds the forestry income and it is a root cause of climate change. Let’s see how it is all connected.
The core reason rural landscapes are despoiled is cities. From clear cut forests to mono-crop industrial agriculture, its to feed the cities. Don’t get my wrong, I love cities: the energy, vibrance, food and culture. But as an interconnected culture we need to look at ourselves in the mirror sometimes.
We can’t complain about traffic or over population if we subscribe to modern society. It’s a sticky wicket to discuss but government and especially western society pay people to have more children.
